Five reasons for taking your dog to the groomer

You may be wondering why all the fuss about dog grooming. Why groom your dog at all? Well, grooming your dog should be an important part of caring for your dog. It is an essential component of responsible dog ownership.

1.  Make Your Pet More Comfortable.
Groomers will properly remove matted hair, clean out waxy/hairy ears and trim long claws.  When left unkempt these problems can lead to discomfort for your pet.

2.  Protect Your Family's Health.
Groomers may identify parasitic infestations such as fleas, ticks and tapeworms that can transmit disease to people.  Lyme Disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Bartonellosis are examples of zoonotic diseases (diseases transmitted from animals to humans).

3.  Save Your Sofa from Hair and Dander.
Groomers have the proper tools and training to thoroughly remove undercoat, loose hair and cleanse skin to decrease shedding and dander.

4.  Detect Early Signs of Illness.
Groomers can alert you to illnesses such as ear infections, tooth decay and skin cancer.  Early detection and treatment can lead to more successful treatment outcomes.

5.  Make Your Pet More Enjoyable To Cuddle.
While you relax, a groomer creates a clean, soft, sweet-smelling and more kissable companion.

We were looking a place in our area that would pamper my husband's Service Dog Judith. I found All 4 Paws Grooming on the internet. After reading the website and seeing what Janie OConnor had to offer, we immediately knew that this is the place that we were looking for. When we walked in not only did Judith feel right at home, but we did also. Not only was All 4 Paws Grooming clean, it had a very warm homey feeling and smell to it. Upon picking Judith up not only was she so very shinny, she had this glow about her that we knew right away that she just had the grooming that we have spent the last year and a half looking for. Then to see Judith with a little glitter on her nose, I knew that she had been kissed by an angel while this was there. Thank you Janie!! We will be back again and again!!
